Ecological laundry powder recipe special white 60°C

As we promised you, here is a quick and effective way to wash your white bed linen efficiently. Geneviève from Les Atelier de Gen offers you her magical recipe. Geneviève is an expert in this field.

To meditate on…

he question of the choice of temperature (see our article on « How to wash your bed linen in an ecological way ? »)
60° is the ideal temperature to obtain a bright white with a natural laundry recipe, to deodorize the odours of perspiration and kill bacteria.
According to a study (MRSA Action UK), ten minutes at 60°C can kill staphylococci and persistent bacteria.
So… More chemistry or more temperature?…

For this recipe we obviously prefer more temperature as Kalani bed sheets in 300 thread count cotton satin sheets and 300 thread cotton percale sheets, are high-end luxury quality, they can withstand a temperature of 60°C.

The Ingredients

For about 300 grams of detergent powder, or 10 laundry:

  • 50 grams of Marseille soap in chips
(Choose a soap that presents the complete list of its composition (INCI). Ensure that there are no chemical additives such as sequestering agents (EDTA) or synthetic surfactants.).
  • 50 grams of baking soda
  • 50 grams of powdered soda ash crystals (annhydrous soda ash)
  • 150 grams of sodium percarbonate

Mode of operation

(easier doesn’t exist…. in 5 min your powder is ready).

1.Put all the ingredients in a jar
2.Shake. Wait before opening.
3.Label the jar.

This powdered detergent is very effective and will keep for a long time!!

DO NOT MIX THE POWDERS, this makes a powder too fine and will stick to the machine drawer!

How to use it?

Mix and put 2 tablespoons of the mixture per machine.
Choose the 60° program ideally (the soap melts better and is more effective; percarbonate is more effective too).

To perfume

Put 20 drops of essential oil of your choice in the softener box to perfume the laundry.

We wish you good preparation and good laundry! Feel free to share with us your experiments and photos of your pretty homemade jars. Psssst if you also have recipes to share with us, don’t hesitate to leave us a comment.

The small drops, make the big rivers….. And when it’s pretty and lovely, why not doing it?
